Laser Vein Treatments
Unattractive leg veins and facial vessels are all too common for men and women of every age and great cause of embarrassment for many. Factors that contribute to the cause of facial and leg veins range from pregnancy, genetics, and hormonal issues. Until now, your only options were to cover them with concealers, hide those leg veins with pants or suffer through painful injections or invasive, expensive surgery. We are not able to prevent veins from forming but with laser we are able to diminish the appearance of leg veins and facial vessels with no incision or downtime and minimal discomfort.
Laser Vein Treatments With the excel® V Laser
The excel® V vascular laser by Cutera® treats a wide range of vessels from tiny spider veins to deep blue reticular veins quickly, safely, and effectively. The laser delivers pulses of light energy, which constricts the blood vessels without harming the surrounding tissue. This then destroys the vessel, which is later reabsorbed below the skin’s surface.

Frequently Asked Questions
How Are Laser Vein Treatments Performed?
Cutera® excel® V laser treatments are performed by either Dr. Schlechter or the licensed Aesthetician in the office. A topical anesthesia is not necessary but is available to ease in the discomfort of the treatment. The laser is applied to skin and the laser light energy is delivered in short pulses to the skin. Often, patients find that one or two treatments are sufficient. However, the number of treatments depends on the number, color, and size of the vessels being treated.
Am I a Candidate for Laser Vein Treatments?
Although laser treatments work on most people, we do have all patients go through a thorough consultation with the doctor or aesthetician to make sure you are candidate. As everyone has varying vein issues, during the consultation process you will be given pricing and an idea of how many treatments will be necessary to get the desired results.
Recovery From Laser Vein Treatments?
Following your treatment, some redness, localized swelling or bruising may occur. This will resolve within one to two weeks of the getting the treatment. For larger leg veins that are treated a brownish pigment may persist for a few weeks. Patients can generally resume most normal activity following the treatment. We recommend on any treated areas exposed to sun to always apply a sunscreen.
